Vancouver Maternity Photography - A new addition

Nothing gives me more pleasure than capturing precious memories for my clients.  I've been blessed with working with this sweet family on several occasions and this was another great milestone in their lives.

Burnaby Baby Photographer - Celebrating 3 months

So you've missed the first 2 weeks window to capture your baby's portraits.  Now what?  Well, just because your baby won't curl into womb poses or stay asleep for the whole session doesn't mean she can't have beautiful photos.  This little doll was 3 months old.  What's great about this age is that, while they can't sit unsupported, they sure love to shower people with their smiles.  And sometimes, if we're lucky, they will doze off long enough for a couple of sleepy shots, too.

Vancouver Newborn Photographer - Newborn appearance and retouching

Newborns are perfect!

At least while we're looking at them, that is all we can see.  That's the beauty of experiencing someone in real life.  We rarely notice minor details, because we're so captivated by the individual before us.  This applies to people of all ages, but rings especially true for babies.  The trouble is, all those little details (so unimportant when viewed in person) can become distracting in a 2 dimensional representation. And at a couple weeks old, newborns are covered in a plethora of various skin changes, from pimples, to flaky skin, to red/purplish patches and scratches.  For the most part, these are very temporary and disappear by the time your little one is about 1 month old or so, but of course, by that point, your tiny darling isn't as sleepy or curly anymore.  As part of the experience at Mamique Photography, newborn skin gets touched up at no additional cost.  Not because your baby isn't perfect as she is, but rather because that scratch that's on her skin today won't be there tomorrow. I see no reason it should live forever on a photograph, however, if you prefer it stays, by all means, I won't remove it :-)

Top is an example of a sweet little newborn who came to me after baby acne has already started, but flaky skin was still present. (typically baby acne starts around day 12, and most flaky skin disappears around day 16).

Below is a fully retouched image with the distracting elements removed so that you can focus on the darling little face.

Vancouver Baby Photographer - Toothy Grin

Oh my goodness, he's changed so much! I love seeing how my tiny clients grow and change.  Hard to believe he was a tiny little newborn not that long ago.

Surrey Newborn Photographer - Twins

I love every chance I get working with twins.  There is something so special and magical in the way they interact with each other, how calm and relaxed they get when they're close together.

Springtime in Vancouver - Child Photography

It's always so amazing when mother nature wakes up from a deep sleep and gives us beautiful backdrops to play with!
